wellington panel event & Christmas function
Over 100 people joined us for our end of year panel event and Christmas function on 8 December in Wellington to hear candid discussions from leaders across New Zealand's energy industry.
We were proud to host a high-level panel of guests, including Andrew McNaught (Lead Country Manager, Mobil Oil New Zealand), Henrik Mosser (General Manager, OMV New Zealand), Stuart McCall (Managing Director, Methanex New Zealand), and James Kilty (Chief Executive Officer, Powerco). The panel discussion was kindly MCed by John Kidd (Enerlytica).
With a panel of representatives that spanned New Zealand's energy sector, attendees were able to get the inside word on the challenges and opportunities that our panellists had seen in recent times and even hear them venture a few predictions for the year ahead.

New plymouth panel event: Skills crisis - fact or fiction?
On 3 November we hosted our end of year New Plymouth panel event to discuss the root causes of the skills challenges facing the energy sector and what can be done by both the industry and education providers to overcome them.
We were pleased to be joined by more than 50 representatives from across the energy sector, NGOs, education providers and the New Plymouth business community to gain insights from our esteemed panel guests and celebrate what has been a big year for the energy sector.
Attendees heard from Glen Bennett (MP for New Plymouth), Arun Chaudhari (Taranaki Chamber of Commerce), Warwick Quinn (Te Pūkenga), and Sheree Long (Energy Skills Aotearoa). The event was entertainingly MCed by New Plymouth Mayor Neil Holdom.

Special event: Global briefing on sustainable fuel policy with ExxonMobil's Derek Wheeler
We were proud to host ExxonMobil's Global Fuels Policy Executive Derek Wheeler for an informative briefing on sustainable fuel policy.
More than 50 people from across the transport and energy sectors joined us to gain important insights on sustainable fuel trends and experiences across the globe.
Meet the Chief Executive, Alison Andrew, Transpower
Almost 60 guests attended our lunchtime Meet the Chief Executive seminar with Transpower's Alison Andrew on Tuesday 11 October.
Event attendees heard about the challenges and opportunities of increasing electrification, the importance of a broad energy mix, and how Transpower is ensuring our national grid is fit for the future.

Wellington panel event: Is our energy security in peril?
On Thursday 11th August 2022 we welcomed more than 60 guests to our panel event about the importance of New Zealand's energy security.
Panel members had in-depth discussions about New Zealand's energy policies, and how rising geopolitical tensions have pushed the energy trilemma towards reliability and affordability.

Meet the Chief Executive: Stuart McCall, Methanex NEw Zealand
On Tuesday 5th July 2022 we hosted an exclusive event with Stuart McCall, Managing Director of Methanex New Zealand.
Stuart provided the audience with an overview of Methanex New Zealand's operations and explained how there is increasing demand for methanol as a low emissions fuel for vehicle and marine use.
Wellington christmas function and PANEL EVENT: 2021 year in review
On Wednesday 8th December 2021 we hosted a panel event of CEOs to review a big year for the energy sector.
This was followed by our annual Christmas function for our members and friends.
New plymouth panel event: powering our energy transition
On Tuesday 30th November 2021 we hosted an outstanding line-up of speakers to discuss the big transition issues for Taranaki, and New Zealand.
The event also doubled as our end of year celebration for Taranaki-based members and stakeholders.

On Thursday 5th August 2021 we hosted an exclusive event with Gretta Stephens, New Zealand Steel's chief executive.
We discussed the importance of a local steel industry to New Zealand, and the challenges and opportunities in decarbonisation.

On Monday 19th October 2020 we hosted a webinar with Andrew McConville, Chief Executive of APPEA.
We held a discussion with our Australian counterparts on news and developments from across the Tasman, including lessons we can learn from each other.
WEBINAR WITH dr joe kang, president of the international gas union
On Monday 31st August 2020 we hosted a webinar with Dr Joe Kang, President of the International Gas Union.
Dr Kang is a global energy leader who discussed trends for natural gas across the world, including the impact of Covid-19 and the future for LNG, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage.
